Lithium Corporation Acquires Additional Nevada Lithium Project

January 6, 2009

RENO, NV – January 6, 2009 – Lithium Corporation (OTCBB: LTUM) (the "Company", or Lithco) is pleased to announce that it has recently acquired an additional lithium brine prospect in southern Nevada, in the general area of the producing Silver Peak lithium brine field in Esmeralda County.

The West Big Smoky Valley property was acquired through staking claims in this highly competitive region. The placer claims staked here cover an area of approximately 2720 acres. Earlier local reconnaissance sampling determined that anomalous values for Lithium occur in the Playa sediments over quite a large area. Sampling possibly indicates that the most prospective areas on the Playa may be on the newly staked block proximal to the southern margin of the basin, where it is possible the structures that are responsible for the warm water encountered in wells locally may also have influenced Lithium deposition in sediments.

The property is approximately 20 miles to the north of Clayton Valley where Chemetall Foote’s producing Silver Peak Lithium brine field is located, and is approximately 12 miles to the northeast of Lithium Corporation’s Fish Lake Valley Prospect.

West Big Smoky shares similar characteristics to Clayton Valley such as geological setting, source sediments, geothermal water, evaporative regime, etc. The project area has excellent infrastructure; there is a low voltage power line crossing the playa some 2 miles to the east of the claim block and access to the claims is possible via Hwy’s 95, and 265. Lithium Corporation plans further sampling programs, and more study before drilling this exciting property in 2010.
